Our stuff has arrived!

This is our little Ikea table from which all the blogging and emailing and skying takes place!
Our bookshelf. Notice the inspirational objects for this grueling process on the little table next to the globe - my late husband's PhD, my father's PhD, my father-in-law's Masters and my Masters...!
Our special picture, commissioned on Gerry's 40th... Daniel had his first dream about Gerhard in Australia last night. He has dreamt a lot about him since he died... unlike Issy and I.
Issy's room...just as small as what she had in SA and almost as full!
Daniel's soon to be teenage boy's den...complete with Gerhard's last self-portrait on the pelmet... he has a lovely large room with lots of light
And the (tidy) fabric wardrobe that keeps falling apart!
My room, complete with broken mirror... was my grandmother's and sadly broke in the move along with a beloved old coffee table and TV cabinet.
Issy's teddy came with and now wears the cancer bandanna that Gerhard bought for her just before he died. Her baptism poem made for her  by her grandparents has pride of place above him.
Our art gallery cum lounge, with all our favourite family photos and paintings... and Danny's still to be set up grammaphone. (He said last night that he wishes his cousin Iggie was here to set it up with him)
And our kitchen, dining room... with floor recently washed by my own fair hands and steam mop!

Viljoens in Adelaide

We have been in Adelaide for nearly two weeks now... This is our back garden with our three recycling bins, unlike in South Africa. But just like in South Africa the rubbish is still collected on a Tuesday.
We have explored one of our closest beaches... we just took teh bus as far as it would go, to Henley beach and walked to the end of the jetty.

Koalas and
kangaroos can get up close and personal at Gorge Wildlife Park in the Hills (about 20 minutes ease- in the opposite direction to the beach). We are in STEPney, an inner city suburb in the middle. The kids are not at school yet, once they are we can show mundane photos of school and Uni
